Resetting a Lost WordPress Admin Password
If you have forgotten your WordPress admin password, there are several ways to reset it.
Method 1: Reset via the WordPress Login Page (Easiest)
- Go to
https://yourdomain.co.za/wp-login.php - Click Lost your password?
- Enter your email address or username
- Click Get New Password
- Check your email for the reset link
Method 2: Reset via cPanel phpMyAdmin
- Log in to cPanel ? phpMyAdmin
- Select your WordPress database
- Open the wp_users table
- Click Edit next to the admin user
- Clear the user_pass field, enter your new password, and set the function to MD5
- Click Go
Method 3: Reset via WP-CLI (Business Plan with SSH)
wp user update admin --user_pass=yournewpassword --allow-root
