Resetting a Lost WordPress Admin Password

If you have forgotten your WordPress admin password, there are several ways to reset it.

Method 1: Reset via the WordPress Login Page (Easiest)

  1. Go to https://yourdomain.co.za/wp-login.php
  2. Click Lost your password?
  3. Enter your email address or username
  4. Click Get New Password
  5. Check your email for the reset link

Method 2: Reset via cPanel phpMyAdmin

  1. Log in to cPanel ? phpMyAdmin
  2. Select your WordPress database
  3. Open the wp_users table
  4. Click Edit next to the admin user
  5. Clear the user_pass field, enter your new password, and set the function to MD5
  6. Click Go

Method 3: Reset via WP-CLI (Business Plan with SSH)

wp user update admin --user_pass=yournewpassword --allow-root
