Securing Your cPanel Account with Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) on cPanel adds an extra layer of security to your hosting account, requiring both your password and a one-time code from your phone.
How to Enable 2FA in cPanel
- Log in to cPanel
- In the Security section, click Two-Factor Authentication
- Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication
- Install an authenticator app on your phone if you haven’t already (Google Authenticator, Authy or Microsoft Authenticator)
- Scan the QR code displayed on screen with your authenticator app
- Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app
- Click Configure Two-Factor Authentication
Logging In With 2FA Enabled
After enabling 2FA, every cPanel login requires:
- Your username and password
- The current 6-digit code from your authenticator app
Lost Access to Your Authenticator App?
If you lose your phone or cannot access your authenticator app, open a support ticket with proof of identity and we will assist with resetting 2FA on your account.
