Installing WordPress on Your Hosting Account

WordPress is the world’s most popular content management system and can be installed on your hosting account in minutes using Softaculous.

Method 1: Install via Softaculous (Recommended)

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Click Softaculous Apps Installer
  3. Click WordPress
  4. Click Install
  5. Fill in your site details:
    • Protocol: https://
    • Domain: your domain
    • Directory: leave blank for root install
    • Site name and tagline
    • Admin username (avoid ‘admin’)
    • Strong admin password
    • Admin email
  6. Click Install

After Installation

  • Your site is live at https://yourdomain.co.za
  • Access the admin at https://yourdomain.co.za/wp-admin

Method 2: Manual Installation

  1. Download WordPress from wordpress.org
  2. Create a MySQL database in cPanel
  3. Upload the WordPress files to public_html via FTP or File Manager
  4. Visit your domain in a browser to run the WordPress setup wizard
  5. Enter your database details and complete the installation
