Installing WordPress on Your Hosting Account
WordPress is the world’s most popular content management system and can be installed on your hosting account in minutes using Softaculous.
Method 1: Install via Softaculous (Recommended)
- Log in to cPanel
- Click Softaculous Apps Installer
- Click WordPress
- Click Install
- Fill in your site details:
- Protocol: https://
- Domain: your domain
- Directory: leave blank for root install
- Site name and tagline
- Admin username (avoid ‘admin’)
- Strong admin password
- Admin email
- Click Install
After Installation
- Your site is live at
https://yourdomain.co.za - Access the admin at
https://yourdomain.co.za/wp-admin
Method 2: Manual Installation
- Download WordPress from wordpress.org
- Create a MySQL database in cPanel
- Upload the WordPress files to public_html via FTP or File Manager
- Visit your domain in a browser to run the WordPress setup wizard
- Enter your database details and complete the installation
