Backing Up Your Website and Email

Regular backups protect your website against accidental deletion, hacking and data loss. Web Design Hosting SA performs daily automated backups, but we also recommend keeping your own backups.

Full Account Backup

1. Log in to cPanel
2. In the Files section, click Backup
3. Under Full Backup, click Download a Full Account Backup
4. Choose a Home Directory destination
5. Enter your email address to receive notification when the backup is ready
6. Click Generate Backup
7. When the backup is ready, go back to the Backup page and download it

Partial Backups (Files or Databases Only)

For quicker backups of specific items:

• Home Directory backup – Backs up all website files
• MySQL Database backup – Backs up your databases individually
• Email Forwarders/Filters backup – Backs up email configuration

WordPress-Specific Backups

If your site runs WordPress, you can also use a backup plugin such as UpdraftPlus to schedule automatic backups to cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).

Restoring a Backup

To restore a backup, go to cPanel ? Backup ? scroll to the Restore a Home Directory Backup or Restore a MySQL Database Backup section and upload your backup file. For full account restores, please open a support ticket.
