What a venue website needs

Spaces and capacity

A section for each space, such as the chapel, the lawn, the hall or the boardroom, with seated and standing capacity and layout options.

Large, fast galleries

Big photos of real events at your venue, compressed so they still load quickly on mobile data.

Date enquiries

An enquiry form that asks for the event type, preferred date, guest numbers and budget, so you can reply with a quote straight away.

Packages and what is included

Your packages, inclusions and “from” prices, plus the suppliers you require or allow, so couples know what they are comparing.

Location and accommodation

Directions, distance from the nearest town or airport, and accommodation on site or nearby for guests travelling in.

WhatsApp and viewings

A WhatsApp button and a way to book a site visit, because most bookings happen after a viewing.

What couples and planners compare

Venue shoppers usually have three or four venues open in tabs at the same time. They want to see the ceremony and reception spaces, maximum guest numbers, whether you allow outside caterers and décor, what the venue hire includes, curfew and noise times, and a rough price. Venues that leave this out get fewer enquiries, and the enquiries they do get are often a poor fit.

We put the answers on the page, with real photos of weddings and functions held at your venue, so the people who contact you already know you suit them.

Deposits, cancellations and your booking terms

Most venues hold a date with a deposit. Under section 17 of the Consumer Protection Act a consumer may cancel an advance booking, and the supplier may ask for a reasonable deposit and charge a reasonable cancellation fee. What is reasonable depends on things such as how much notice the client gave and whether you can rebook the date, so a blanket “deposit not refundable” line is risky.

We add a clear booking terms page with your deposit, payment schedule and cancellation scale, written in plain language, so couples see it before they pay. Have the final wording checked by your own adviser. If you take deposits online, our guide to PayFast, Yoco and Peach Payments compares the payment options.

Pages a venue website usually needs

  • Home: the setting, capacity and the enquiry button.
  • Weddings: ceremony and reception spaces, packages and preferred suppliers.
  • Conferences and functions: rooms, equipment, catering and day rates.
  • Gallery: real events, sorted by space or season.
  • Accommodation: rooms on site or nearby guest houses.
  • Booking terms and FAQ: deposits, cancellations, curfew, children and pets.
  • Contact and directions: map, GPS pin and viewing times.

Venues with rooms for guests can also use our guest house and hotel websites features.

Who it is for

  • Wedding venues and wine farm venues

  • Farm, garden and boutique event spaces

Kevin from web design hosting has been excellent to work with for the last 10 years. He handled the design and hosting of our website for Zeek Gold and made the whole process easy from start to finish. He’s responsive, explains things clearly, and always follows through on what he promises. He built / redesigned our site at zeekgold.co.za, and whenever we’ve needed changes or help, he’s sorted it…

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a website for a wedding venue cost?

Our packages start at R1,450 once-off. Most venues choose 10 pages at R4,950, which covers weddings, conferences, gallery, accommodation, booking terms and contact. A year of hosting and a .co.za domain are included.

Can couples check if a date is available?

Yes. We can link your existing booking calendar, or add an enquiry form that asks for the preferred date so you can confirm availability with a quote.

Should I publish my prices?

Showing “from” prices or what a typical package includes saves you time on enquiries that are outside the couple’s budget. You decide how much detail to show, and you can change it in the editor.

Can I take deposits through the website?

Yes. We can add online payment for deposits with a South African payment gateway. See our ecommerce websites for the options.

Can I add photos after each wedding?

Yes. You can add galleries yourself in the editor. Ask the photographer for permission to use their images and credit them, because photographers often keep rights in the photos by agreement.
