What a salon website needs

Treatment and price menu

Every service with its duration and price or “from” price, grouped into cuts, colour, nails, lashes, brows, skin and body.

Booking on every page

A button to the booking app you already use, or a booking request form if you prefer to confirm appointments yourself.

WhatsApp bookings

Many clients would rather send a WhatsApp than fill in a form, so the button sits where their thumb is.

Stylists and therapists

A short profile for each team member with their speciality and the days they work, so clients can ask for the right person.

A gallery of your work

Your own photos of cuts, colour and nail art, organised by service, which sells better than stock images.

Local search

Pages built around the services and suburb you are in, so you show up for “salon near me” style searches.

Prices, deposits and no-show policies

Clients compare salons on price before they book, and unclear pricing is one of the main reasons they move on. We set your menu up so that every service shows a price or a “from” price and how long it takes, with notes on what changes the price, such as hair length or a consultation for colour corrections.

If you take a booking deposit or charge for late cancellations and no-shows, say so on the booking page. The Consumer Protection Act lets a customer cancel an advance booking, and you may charge only a reasonable cancellation fee, taking into account how much notice they gave and whether you could fill the slot. A clear, fair policy on the website avoids arguments at the front desk.

Client photos and POPIA

Before and after photos are the best marketing a salon has, but a photo of a client’s face is personal information under POPIA. Ask clients for consent before you post their photos on the website or social media, keep a record of that consent and remove a photo if they ask. Booking and contact forms on the site collect only a name, contact details and the service wanted, and link to your privacy policy. Our POPIA website checklist covers the rest.

Pages a salon website usually needs

  • Home: your style, location, hours and the booking button.
  • Treatments and prices: one clear menu, or a page per category for bigger salons.
  • Team: stylists, therapists and nail technicians.
  • Gallery: your work, with client consent.
  • Products: the ranges you stock and use, with an option to sell online later.
  • Policies and contact: deposits, cancellations, gift vouchers, map and parking.

Salons that sell products or gift vouchers online can grow into an online shop. A strong Google Business Profile with real reviews works hand in hand with the website.

Who it is for

  • Hair salons and barbershops
  • Nail bars and nail technicians
  • Beauty salons, lash and brow studios
  • Mobile hairdressers and beauty therapists

Kevin from web design hosting has been excellent to work with for the last 10 years. He handled the design and hosting of our website for Zeek Gold and made the whole process easy from start to finish. He’s responsive, explains things clearly, and always follows through on what he promises. He built / redesigned our site at zeekgold.co.za, and whenever we’ve needed changes or help, he’s sorted it…

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a website for a hair salon cost?

Our packages start at R1,450 once-off for a one-page site with your services, prices and booking button. Most salons choose 5 pages at R2,950, covering treatments, team, gallery, policies and contact. A year of hosting and a .co.za domain are included.

Can clients book appointments online?

Yes. We link the salon booking app you already use from every page, or add a booking request form and a WhatsApp button if you prefer to confirm bookings yourself.

Can I sell gift vouchers or products on my website?

Yes. Gift vouchers and retail products can be sold online with card and instant EFT payments. See our ecommerce websites for the options.

Can I use my Instagram photos on the website?

Yes, as long as they are your own photos and the clients in them agreed to be shown. We can also link your Instagram so new work appears in one place.

Do I need a logo before you build the site?

It helps but it is not required. If you do not have one, we offer logo design and can use the same colours across the website, price list and signage.
