What a recruitment website needs

Job listings

Vacancies with title, location, salary range and closing date, which you add and close yourself, or linked from your recruitment software.

Two clear paths

Separate sections for employers and candidates, so each finds what they need from the home page.

CV uploads with consent

CV submission with POPIA consent wording, a clear purpose and a retention period, stored securely.

Employer enquiries

A form for employers to brief a role, with fields for position, location, type of placement and start date.

Registration and no-fee notice

Your Department of Employment and Labour registration and a plain statement that candidates are never charged.

Search-friendly jobs

Job pages with structured data that search engines can read, plus sector pages that rank for “recruitment agency” searches.

Employment Services Act rules for your website

Under the Employment Services Act 4 of 2014, private employment agencies and temporary employment services must be registered with the Department of Employment and Labour and must display their registration certificate at their premises. Operating without registration is an offence under section 50(2). Section 15 of the Act prohibits charging work seekers any fee for employment services. A website that shows your registration details and says clearly that candidates never pay anything builds trust, and gives job seekers one less reason to hesitate before they apply. This is practical website guidance, not legal advice.

POPIA and candidate CVs

A CV is full of personal information, and some recruiters also collect race and disability details for employment equity reporting, which are special personal information under POPIA. Your website should tell candidates why you collect their details, who you will share their CV with, how long you keep it and how to ask for it to be deleted. We add that wording to the upload form, link a privacy policy and keep the form to what you actually need. Our POPIA checklist for websites covers the rest.

Pages a recruitment agency website needs

  • Home: one path for employers, one for candidates.
  • Current vacancies: searchable by sector and location.
  • For employers: permanent, contract and temporary placements, how you work and how fees are structured.
  • Sectors: a page per sector you recruit for, such as finance, engineering or hospitality.
  • For candidates: how to apply, what happens next and the no-fee statement.
  • About and registration details.
  • Contact and privacy policy.

Vacancies change daily, so plan for upkeep. Our website maintenance plans keep plugins and forms working, and email hosting handles CV-heavy inboxes.

Who it is for

  • Permanent placement agencies
  • Temporary employment services and labour brokers
  • Specialist and executive recruiters
  • HR consultancies that also recruit

Kevin from web design hosting has been excellent to work with for the last 10 years. He handled the design and hosting of our website for Zeek Gold and made the whole process easy from start to finish. He’s responsive, explains things clearly, and always follows through on what he promises. He built / redesigned our site at zeekgold.co.za, and whenever we’ve needed changes or help, he’s sorted it…

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a website for a recruitment agency cost?

Our packages start at R1,450 once-off for a one-page site. Most agencies choose 10 pages at R4,950 for vacancies, employer and candidate sections and sector pages, and agencies with many sectors choose the 30-page package at R8,950. A year of hosting and a .co.za domain are included.

Can I post and close jobs myself?

Yes. Every package includes an editor, so you can add a vacancy, edit it and close it when the role is filled. If you use recruitment software with a jobs feed, we can link to it instead.

Can candidates upload their CV on the website?

Yes. We add a CV upload form with POPIA consent wording and a privacy policy, and set it to send CVs to a secure inbox or your recruitment software.

Should my website say candidates do not pay?

We recommend it. The Employment Services Act prohibits private employment agencies from charging work seekers a fee, and a clear statement reassures candidates before they send their CV.

How long should we keep CVs that come in through the website?

POPIA says personal information should not be kept longer than you need it for the purpose it was collected for. Decide on a period, for example for as long as the candidate is actively looking plus a set time after that, state it on the form and in your privacy policy, and delete CVs when it ends.

Will my vacancies show up in Google?

Each vacancy gets its own page with a clear title, location and structured job data, which helps search engines understand it. Sector pages and our local SEO plans help employers find your agency.
