What a plumbing website needs

Call and WhatsApp on every screen

A sticky call button and WhatsApp link on mobile, because most plumbing jobs start with an urgent call, not a contact form.

Emergency and office hours

Say clearly whether you take after-hours and weekend call-outs, and how call-out fees work, so the right customers phone you.

Suburbs you cover

A service area page listing the suburbs and towns you drive to, which helps you show up for searches such as “plumber in Durbanville”.

PIRB registration shown

Your PIRB registration and the fact that you can issue a plumbing Certificate of Compliance, with a link so customers can check it.

A page per job type

Geysers, blocked drains, leak detection, bathroom renovations and solar or heat pump geysers each get their own section.

Quote form with photos

A short form for non-urgent work, plus a WhatsApp prompt so customers can send photos of the leak or the old geyser.

How people choose a plumber

Plumbing searches split into two kinds. Emergency searches (“burst geyser”, “blocked drain”, “plumber near me”) happen on a phone, often at night, and the customer calls the first business that looks local and answers. Planned work, such as a bathroom renovation or a heat pump installation, is researched over days and compared on photos, reviews and clear pricing. A good plumbing website serves both: a call button above everything for the first group, and job pages with photos and a quote form for the second.

Most of the extra calls come from Google Maps, so the website and your Google Business Profile need the same name, number and service area. Our guide to setting up a Google Business Profile walks you through it, and our local SEO plans keep the work going.

PIRB registration and plumbing CoCs

The Plumbing Industry Registration Board (PIRB) is the professional body for plumbers in South Africa. A PIRB-registered plumber can issue a plumbing Certificate of Compliance (CoC), and members of the public can check a plumber’s registration and whether a CoC was logged using the verification tools on the PIRB website. Homeowners and insurers often ask for a CoC after geyser work, so we show your registration on the site exactly as it appears on the register and explain when you issue a CoC. If you are not registered, we leave it out rather than imply otherwise.

Pages a plumbing website needs

  • Home: what you do, where you work, emergency hours and the call button.
  • Geysers: replacements, repairs, solar and heat pump options, and what a CoC covers.
  • Drains and leaks: blocked drains, leak detection and water meter readings that will not stop.
  • Renovations: bathroom and kitchen work with before and after photos.
  • Areas: the suburbs you serve.
  • About and registration: who you are, PIRB details and insurance claims work.
  • Contact: phone, WhatsApp, form and hours.

That is seven pages, which fits our 10-page package with room for a few blog posts later.

Who it is for

  • One-person plumbing businesses and owner-operators
  • Plumbing companies with several teams and vans
  • Geyser, solar geyser and heat pump installers
  • Leak detection and drain cleaning specialists

Kevin from web design hosting has been excellent to work with for the last 10 years. He handled the design and hosting of our website for Zeek Gold and made the whole process easy from start to finish. He’s responsive, explains things clearly, and always follows through on what he promises. He built / redesigned our site at zeekgold.co.za, and whenever we’ve needed changes or help, he’s sorted it…

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a website for a plumber cost?

Our packages start at R1,450 once-off for a one-page site with your services, areas and call button. Most plumbers choose 5 pages at R2,950 or 10 pages at R4,950, which leaves room for separate geyser, drain and renovation pages. A year of hosting and a .co.za domain are included.

Do I need a website if I already get work from Google Maps?

A website makes your Google Business Profile work harder. Google uses it to understand which services and areas you cover, and customers who click through see your registration, photos and prices before they call. Read why your business needs a website.

Should I put my prices on the website?

Many plumbers show a call-out fee and “from” prices for common jobs such as a standard geyser replacement. It filters out people shopping only on price and reduces time spent on quotes. We can add a simple price list you update yourself.

Can the website show that I am PIRB registered?

Yes. We add your registration details and a link to the PIRB verification page, so customers can check it themselves. Show it only if your registration is current.

Can customers send me photos of the problem?

Yes. A WhatsApp button lets customers send photos straight to your phone, and the quote form can accept a description of the job and the address.
