Websites for estate agents

Website Design for Estate Agents and Property Agencies

Buyers find homes on the big property portals, but sellers and landlords choose an agent by looking at the agency’s own website. Our website design for estate agents puts your listings, area knowledge and agent profiles in one place, with a valuation request on every page and the PPRA registration wording the law requires, from R1,450 once-off including a year of hosting and a .co.za domain.

What an estate agency website needs

Listings on your own site

Show your stock with photos, prices and details, linked or fed from the listing software you already use.

Valuation requests

A short “what is my home worth?” form, because seller and landlord leads are what an agency website wins most often.

Agent profiles

Each agent’s photo, areas, languages, contact details and current listings, so sellers can pick a person, not just a brand.

Area guides

A page for each suburb you work in, with schools, transport and recent activity, which also ranks for local searches.

PPRA wording built in

The prescribed “Registered with the PPRA” sentence in the site footer, so it appears on every page.

WhatsApp on every listing

A WhatsApp button that sends the agent the listing reference, which is how many South African buyers prefer to ask.

Property Practitioners Act rules for your website

Estate agents are regulated as property practitioners by the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) under the Property Practitioners Act 22 of 2019. Section 53 of the Act requires every holder of a Fidelity Fund certificate to display the certificate at each place of business and to reproduce the prescribed sentence about holding a certificate, “Registered with the PPRA”, in legible lettering on letterheads and marketing material. Not doing so is an offence. Your website is marketing material, so we put the wording in the footer of every page, and we show each agent’s registration status on their profile the way your principal prefers. This is practical website guidance, so confirm the detail with your principal or the PPRA.

Why your own site still matters next to the portals

Portals are where buyers browse, and you will keep paying for them. Your own website does a different job: it convinces a seller to sign a mandate with you. Sellers look for local knowledge, recent sales, a real person they can call and proof that you market properties well. Area guides, agent profiles and a simple valuation form do that work. Pair the website with a well-kept Google Business Profile and our local SEO plans to show up for “estate agents in [suburb]” searches.

Pages an estate agency website needs

  • Home: featured listings, your areas and a valuation request.
  • For sale and to rent: listings with search filters.
  • Sell with us: how you market a property and what a mandate involves.
  • Rentals and property management: for landlords, if you offer it.
  • Our agents: profiles and contact details.
  • Area guides: one page per suburb or town.
  • Contact, privacy policy and PPRA details.

A new agency also needs a logo that works on boards, flyers and the website. See logo design.

Who it is for

  • Independent estate agencies
  • Franchise agents who want their own site
  • Rental agents and property managers
  • Agencies covering several suburbs or towns

Kevin from web design hosting has been excellent to work with for the last 10 years. He handled the design and hosting of our website for Zeek Gold and made the whole process easy from start to finish. He’s responsive, explains things clearly, and always follows through on what he promises. He built / redesigned our site at zeekgold.co.za, and whenever we’ve needed changes or help, he’s sorted it…

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a website for an estate agent cost?

Our packages start at R1,450 once-off for a one-page agent site. Most agencies choose 10 pages at R4,950, which covers listings, selling, rentals, agents and area guides, and larger agencies with many areas choose the 30-page package at R8,950. A year of hosting and a .co.za domain are included.

Can my listings show on my website automatically?

Many property listing and CRM systems offer a feed or widget for your own website. We connect the one you use where it allows it, or set up listings you can add yourself in the editor.

Does my website need to say “Registered with the PPRA”?

Section 53 of the Property Practitioners Act requires the prescribed sentence on letterheads and marketing material, and a website is marketing material. We add it to the footer so every page shows it.

Can I have my own website if I work for a franchise?

That depends on your franchise agreement and brand rules, so check with your principal first. Many franchises allow an agent profile site that links back to the group.

Will my agency show up for searches in my suburb?

Area guide pages and a linked Google Business Profile help. For ongoing work on map rankings, see our local SEO plans.
